Our design above has symbolic meaning related to the idea of Hinduism and Indian culture. Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati (who has an elephantine countenance with a giant trunk and ears) is one of the most famous and beloved deities in Indian Mythology, and whom is also known as the most representative symbol of Hinduism. The general description for Ganesha is the mighty Lord of success, the destroyer of obstacles, and the ruler of masses, but he is also worshipped as the God of wealth and wisdom. His form contains many sacred meanings like the supreme reality of mankind, sacrifice for justice and such, along with an interesting story like how his father Shiva had cut his head then placed an elephant head after ("Ganesha").
In Hinduism, the lotus flower represents the power of creation and life. The idea has come from the beauty and powerful adaptation of the lotus blooming in the mud, which reflects the sublimity of good in dark, the majorly designed notion of Hinduism. It also represents a strong stabilization and emblem of peace since it is thought to be the first bloomed flower in history and the Gods were born from lotus flowers (Ranganathan).
The design of lotus flower coupled with the head of Ganesha is very symbolic and representative which impresses the importance of enlightenment and a sound mind which people should strive to be more enlightened as Ganesha is in the picture. It has a vignette design that is settled and focused composition along with a vertical symmetry. The piece has strong line work since it was meant to be wall relief.
